je naslov našega članka v julijski številki ameriške revije Mountain Bike Action (strani 124 in 125). Zaslužene črte se navezujejo na mavrico, ki si jo je prislužil Commencal, bolj natančno, sta si jo privozila Gee in Rachel Atherton. Ko so barve v modrem, rdečem, črnem, rumenem in zelenem odtenku združene na prsih, pričajo o aktualnem svetovnem naslovu, enake oznake na rokavih pa o formalnem. Gee in Rachel bosta v sezoni 2010 nosila formalni mavrici. Rachel ni imela možnosti braniti naslova (poškodovala se je že v pripravljalnem obdobju, na cestnem kolesu), Gee je bil na zadnjem prvenstvu šesti.

Kot zanimivost povejmo, da bo ekipi družinice Atherton letos potekla pogodba, vendar se v letu 2010 za Rachel, Geeja in Dana ne bo veliko spremenilo. Ekipa Animal Commencal bo obnovila pogodbo in za nas je najbolj pomembno, da se obveznosti iz pogodbe tičejo koles Commencal. Athertoni h Commencalovemu razvoju prispevajo ogromno, poleg njih pa tudi Cedric Gracia. A tudi on je bil letos resno poškodovan in njegov razvojni prispevek omejen.

 

Članek v ameriški reviji se torej ukvarja s prvakom, s kolesom Commencal Supreme DH.

Aboard the bike, your weight is centered, which puts you in a proper position to attack tecnical trails. With the Supreme DH, you simply point and shoot through gnarly terrain and trust the suspension to handle the load. The 32-inch stand-over height hinders the bike's agility, but on steep, rocky terrain, the Supreme remains balanced and stable. The center of gravity on the Supreme is around the bottom bracket; so pumping terrain is an easy and efficient way to find more speed when pedaling is not an option. The 17-inch chain-stays are on the shorter side, which is great when you need to manual or lift the front end. Lateral stiffness is an understated charasteristic of the Supreme's single pivot design.

One word describes the Marzocchi suspension on this bike: active. Traction was always at a premium aboard the Supreme, as an active shock and fork kept the wheels stuck to the track. The Supreme's geometry is dialed for downhill terrain, and as the trail becomes faster and steeper, the bike's descending proficiency shows.
