Commencal Supreme 1

18. februar 2009

The Commencal Supreme 1 is a ton of fun to ride and clearly took plenty of cues from its big brother the Supreme DH when it comes to going down the hill,

je stavek, ki so ga zabeležili testerji na straneh ameriškega portala SickLines. Testirali so najnovejšo andorsko freeride zverinico in natipkali mnenje o njenih sposobnostih.

Slika

Pointing the Supreme down the hill really is impressive as it tracks the terrain unlike most small travel bikes. It truly feels like a miniature downhill bike and it’s easy to feel confident descending. The rear end provided a supple feel for the initial part of the travel that is reminiscent of many downhill bikes. After settling in, the suspension felt a bit more progressive with the rest of its travel. It used all of its 6.3” of travel well. The bottom bracket was at a good height that helped the bike corner quite confidently.

V naslednjem odstavku se navdušenje nadaljuje:

Braking on the Commencal felt pretty neutral with a tiny bit of squat. Pedaling the Supreme also felt quite efficient due in part to the chainring size lining up with the main pivot point. It was easy to get the Commencal up to speed and accelerate out of corners that helped keep the bike playful and nimble.

Testerje so impresionirale celo plezalne sposobnosti. Relativno enostavno nabiranje nadmorske višine - tudi s freeride igračami - ni (več) nobena skrivnost. Večino neprepričanih freeriderjev bi omenjena enostavnost znala bogato presenetiti...

Ob pojmu 'vožnja navkreber' so Sicklines-i napisali sledeče:

It might not look like it, but the Supreme is capable of going uphill quite well. The Supreme can run a front derailleur should you decide you need lower gears to help you get up the hill. The 36t front chainring provided good pedaling performance even when the terrain pointed upwards but perhaps a 34t would open up its climbing capabilities even more. We got up plenty of good sized climbs with the 36t ring just fine.
